Monthly Focus
Math: Calendar, counting, skip counting, adding and subracting objects, patterns and telling time to the hour.
Reading: sight words listed each week on the front of the homework packet. Vocabulary, letter sounds,blends,and diagraphs. Shared reading of nonfiction and fiction literature, and parts of a story.
Science: Animals 2X2.
Social Studies: Arizona vocabulary words A-Z
Spelling: spelling words are on the front of your childs homework packet and in a green or red folder.
Writing: Writing sentences with four or more words, journal writing, Thinking Maps, working on write, review, revise, and publish.

Third Quarter
We arenow into our third quarter of school.  Please continue to do all of the great teaching that you do with your child at home.  

2012
Welcome back and Happy New Year!  We have so many exciting projects, activities and events that will be taking place place between now and May so please remember to read over all of your child paperwork that comes home each day.
Early Release
Our next Early Release is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25th.  Students will be dismissed at 12:15 and teachers will thenattend an educational workshop. 

McTeacher night
Please plan a trip to McDonalds on December, 13th for McTeacher Night from 5:00 - 8:00pm.  Some of us teachers and staff will be working at McDonalds located on Indian School and Hayden that evening and part of the proceeds will benefit Hohokam Traditional School.
